My personal journey
For many years, I was struggling to get my passion projects started and finished (I've always had a lot!).
- I would write my ideas down on paper, then forget where I put them.
- I would start planning a super new and exciting project, get overwhelmed at the sheer size, then abandon it.
- I would sketch out a video game idea, start working on it, but then start feeling lonely working on it all by myself. The project would get shelved.
But eventually ...
... after many days of journalling, brainstorming, and honest conversations with trusted friends (and therapy), I finally started to figure it out.
- I started meeting my emotions, fears, and scary thoughts with more love and curiosity, rather than shame or judgement.
- I started observing my own relationship to productivity, and shedding away the expectation that I 'should be productive'.
- I started learning about proper project planning, and set up some minimal but effective systems for myself using Notion.
Today ... I am working on several passion projects at once: from dance to music to art to video games. I'm also practicing vulnerability and connecting with others, day by day.
Aaaand, I finally made a video game! 🙌
